The year is almost come to an end, and a new year begins. For the Fupre students, it begins with the 2nd semester examination( wishing all of us success).
For the Freshers, its a year/month most of them have been waiting and having sleepless night for ever since they saw their admission status.
Well its normal anyway,even during my time i couldn't wait for resumption day to come because I got fed up of answering stupid questions from family and friends like when you dy go school?, shey you say them give you
admission? Una school never resume?, why you still they house?, and all sort of annoying questions. If Fupre would keep to the recent calender( which I doubt), then ya all are lucky to resume early, because Fupre is a customer to late resumption.
Few weeks from now, you would be resuming for clearance, How prepared are you????? First lets take a look at some of the things you are expected to resume with for your clearance.
All fresh students are hereby directed to report for screening and clearance exercise with the following documents:
1. Jamb admission letter
2. Jamb result slip
3. Post utme result
4. Senior school certificate result (waec or neco)
5. Birth certifcate or age declaration
6. Local government letter of identification
7. Four coloured passport photograghs
8. Two coloured post card photograghs
9. Two office flat files
10. Neco and waec result scratch cards
11. Two photocopies of each of the items in nos 1,2,3,4,5 and 6.
12. If already admitted to any tertiary institution prior to fupre’s admission, present approved rejection form in respect of the earlier admission.
Now we assume you have everything you need for the clearance. Lemme take you on a trip on how the clearance would look like.
You take a bike from the Federal junction down to school gate. As a newbie okada men would be forming commando by charging 100 naira nor gree ooo. Na Sky(N50) you drop inside the school and see some people wearing one kind uniform like army, nor reason them, they are Sherrifs( they like show themselves sometimes, especiallly to freshers like una).Now you are in the school compound, just try and ask anybody around to show you the LT1.
As soon as you get to LT1, you would see some business minded students there(like me) selling and printing jamb scratch there, while some snap passports and postcards( a picture to show you are not handicapped). After getting everything set, you should join a line to enable you start your clearance.
As soon as you enter the room, you would see staffs inside ( most of them drinking mineral and snack). Stand in front of them and present your paper( please dress properly oo, Fupre has zero tolerance for indecent dressing). When she/he collects your paper( original and photocopy) he goes through them ask some questions (make sure your O'level is complete). If you satisfy everything they need, then unto the next level. But if you don't, you don enter gear Be that ooo. If your papers correct, then they fill a slip for you with your name and department permitting you to proceed to pay your fees. Normally the bank people would be present in the next room eagerly waiting for your money.
You enter the room, fill your name, and give them your fees and medical charges. They fill your teller and give it to you,one for fees, the other for medical charges.
After this part which might take a whole day, then comes the next part. Which would be done preferably on the second day. Please eat well while coming for this part,cos you would be needing a lot of energy. Yes energy I mean and you would need a lot of it .
This is the part where you change your teller to receipt. The teller is the one given to you by the bank people after fees payment. You take the teller to the ict unit. Its a different building, so you ask questions(please bring 1k along ooo). When you get there, people go don full there already, just hustle/push/fight your way to the window and present the man with your teller and 1k. He takes it, process it and calls you to come inside the room(pray make nepa nor cease light o). When you get inside, you are given a system to do your online clearance fill every detail required(please do this part carefully.) after filling, you then would print out your course form( a paper containing all your courses for the semester and their course code).
When you come out, go grab yourself a drink. Now take the receipt back to where you did your clearance,there you would see the hostel representatives present your fees slip to them and they would assign you to a hostel and bed space. Well at this point you can go home and return for the next step.
Yes, your course form is with you abi??? Oya its time to get them signed by the different departments. For example you want to sign chem111/112. Take your course form to the chemistry department pay for your practical manual/lab coat and they would sign for you.Do the same for all the courses. Normally the course form is always in 4 copies, when all the departments have signed, them take it to the CSO to sign after he signs, you put your signature and finally take it to your department so your HOD would sign.
Buy four files and put same documents you used for clearance inside the four(arrange the 4 course forms inside). Now go to your department and get clearance from them. Drop one of the files there. Take the one to academic officer and CSO, and keep the remaining one for yourself.
Well the next step is the medical clearance( arrrghhhh I hate this part).
Remember you payed the medical fees to the bank people now give the medical attendant the teller that was changed to receipt. They would take your blood sample, and give you two containers for your urine and feaces. Feel free to go to the toilet and fill the containers with your wee wee and sh*t. Bring it back to them and they would give you the address of the hospital to go for your X-Ray( abeg hold better money for x-ray oo, like 3k). After some days , return to medicals and collect your medical card. You can also proceed to the library to collect your Library card.Before I forget, nor forget to create Wi-Fi user name and password( for those people who love browsing).
Well at this point I can say Welcome to Fupre.
